Evaluation of Impact of BRIDGE + Dairy Extension Approach in Ethiopia On track checked

Building Rural Income through Inclusive Dairy Business Growth in Ethiopia project (BRIDGE) was implemented by a joint consortium of SNV Ethiopia(lead) and Wageningen LivestockResearch, Wageningen University (WUD) played important roles to transforming the dairy sector. Recently, BRIDGE end its follow up BRIDGE-+- (with one more consortium member organization) have introduced a new dairy extensionapproach ; uniquelytermed as ’lactation cycle’ based pluralistic extension approach where multiple technologies were packed together and disseminated to beneficiary dairy farmers.In BRIDGE+, the lactation cycle based extension approach was furtherre-developed to a more systematic extension approach by also assigning new contents and organizational structures. This new app roach is called a ‘Dairy Farm School-DFS‘which is now under implementation by BRIDGE project. In both cases, multiple dairy technologies were packed together to make a difference to the extension service delivery, thereby increase farm and dairy cows’ production and productivities. These new extension approaches, however, needs to be further tested/evaluated, and empirical evidences generated for further enrichment before recommending for its wider applications beyond the projectlife and projectareas. ...
